First Look: The Will of the Magi!

Gainer's design released as fantasy epic due out this summer

As was teased in last week's episode of the Publish Me! podcast, feast your eyes on the cover art for The Will of the Magi by Paul Dickinson Russell. The completed design, by aois21 designer Rana Gainer, envisions the stone monolith that the hero Aiden comes upon early in his adventure and then comes back to later on.

Gainer drew her inspiration for the cover after reading the first 10 chapters and seeing the strong Celtic influence on Russell's work. In a previous episode of the podcast, she pitched this idea to Paul and he immediately jumped at the idea, especially considering the shadowy nature of his main character's appearance.

It has been a long process to get to this point, as has been documented through the two years of the Publish Me! podcast. The book is written, the Indiegogo campaign is funded, the editing is underway, and now, we have a cover. Is it an image that tells 250,000 words? It at least will introduce you to a book of that length.

If you haven't already, preorder your copy today through the Indiegogo campaign and you could even get a framed print of the cover art!

Dating is on top in March

Release Party for print run puts Aylin Vega over the top

Aylin Vega's sex memoir has taken sole possession of the sales lead in March after a well-attended launch event at Walls of Books in Washington, DC, at the beginning of the month. This was the official launch of the paperback edition of "Dating" and the reading from the appearance was released as an episode of Aylin's Sexed Vexed Perplexed podcast.

We are had strong sales in other markets and hope to build on it in the month ahead as aois21 will be traveling once again to Kensington, MD, for the Kensington Day of the Book on Sunday, April 24th. Several aois21 Creatives and staff will be out in force throughout the day as we take part in our third straight Day of the Book. Be on the lookout for more details as the event gets closer.

Statement by Keith F. Shovlin of aois21 publishing in support of Bianca Palmisano

Here at aois21 publishing, we are committed to helping others share their stories with the world. We have been fortunate to work with poet Bianca Palmisano over the past three years, supporting her poetry collections as well as her own business venture, Intimate Health Consulting. We have partnered with Intimate Health Consulting, which has supported several series on the aois21 podcast network.

When I read the “article” disparaging Bianca in her attempt to educate teens and preteens about sexual health, I was greatly dismayed. This attempt to paint Bianca’s actions as immoral or reprehensible is in itself reprehensible. Study after study has shown that education is key to a person successfully growing into a moral and responsible member of the community.

In the days since the “article” was posted, Bianca has received a welcome amount of support from friends and colleagues, but also increased derision and ignorant criticism. We stand by and support Bianca in her attempts to make these children feel accepted and comfortable in their bodies. Not only will we continue to promote her work, but we will also continue to feature Intimate Health Consulting on our podcast series. She is providing an important service to the community, and we will not allow close-mindedness and anger to keep her from doing that.
